Like Father, Like Daughter

Ashlyn LOVES her tool set. She got it for Christmas and anytime Cole has something to fix, she grabs her tools to help him out. The other day we found her "fixing" the dining room chair.

Easter

We had a great Easter. Ashlyn had a great time finding eggs, she even talked Uncle Ryan into hiding them again so she could find them. She got a really cute Lady Bug Lawn Chair from the Easter Bunny, Sidewalk Chalk from Kristin and Aaron, a singing and dancing bunny from Grammy and Papa, and LOTS of candy. Our neighbors were so nice to bring Ashlyn eggs with candy and her all time favorite...Money! She was so excited!

We enjoyed a Ham and Funeral Potatoes dinner with our family.

Welcome to my pity party.

Welcome to my pity party.

So I'm really feeling frustrated. I love this time of year, but I'm tired and feel crappy! I should be outside playing with Ashlyn and enjoying this beautiful weather! I'm feeling if I write--well in this case, type out my frustration, it will help me feel a little better about myself.

A few things are going on in my mind.

1. My due date is approaching and although I thought I've dealt with it, I can't help but wonder about what might have been. It makes me sad.

2. My hormones are still out of whack from my miscarriage and I'm really getting sick of it. I've finally found a doctor who will listen to me and who has done the full panel of blood work and is willing to help me feel better. I have no progesterone, testosterone, my thyroid is low, and I'm still anemic.

3. Because I have been put on medication for the hormones and thyroid, my weight has now gone up 10 pounds in 5 weeks. It's making me depressed. My clothes aren't fitting. I've got all these cute summer clothes and nothing fits! I'm the highest I've been with the exception of being pregnant.

4. I feel like I'm cheating Ashlyn out of a completely involved Mom, and Cole out of a "normal" Wife.

I'm sorry I'm such a Negative Nelly today...on the upside of things, I have been working out on my Wii and at least I'm enjoying it--haven't noticed any changes yet. And we are going to San Diego soon so that's something fun to look forward too.

Well hopefully things will start to get better.

Eggs to DYE for...

I love Easter and coloring eggs. Ashlyn was so excited to see the eggs change colors. She also loved piling on the stickers, one on top of another on one egg; and coloring with the little paint brush. Thanks Grammy for providing all of the supplies :)

Swimming Lessons

I enrolled Cole and Ashlyn in the Parent/Tot Swimming Class. They met every Saturday morning for 6 weeks. Cole was not thrilled at all about this, but I told him he needed to learn how to handle her and her fish like abilities for the Summer. I figured he would learn something from it too. They really did have a great time and the best of all...they PASSED the Class. I'm so proud!

I'm BAAAAACCCKKK!!

Ok here we go. I fell of the blog wagon...again. I don't even know where to begin with the last two months! So I'm taking the advice of my friend Emma and letting you know the next few posts will be random things and may be out of order.

First I have to update the funny things Ashlyn says.
"Mom, is your food in your belly button?" "Yes it is"
"I really like Rabiroves Mom"
"Umm let's just have pizza"
"Does that sound like a good idea Mom?"
"I heard Max wag his tail!"
"You're the best Dad in the Whole Wide World" Then she kisses him on the forehead.
"My bum hurts" --this is the thing she calls out to get Cole to come into her room at night. He falls for it every time.

Lately she has wanted to dig in the dirt and play with bugs. As long as they don't come into the house, I'm fine with that.

So in the past 2 months the Binki Fairy has come and Ashlyn is now in a Big Girl Bed. After her attempts at Gymnastics from the crib, we gave in and got her a bed. She picked it out which has worked really well because she loves sleeping in it!

This is Ashlyn decorating the package to Penelope the Binki Fairy.

See the Fairy Dust??

So Ashlyn wasn't buying the whole "pack up your binkies and leave them outside for a big surprise in the Morning" So I had to talk to Penelope and arrange for the surprise to be given before the binkies were surrendered. I took Ashlyn down stairs and showed her the Cottage that Penelope had left for her. I told her the only way we could open it was to put the binkies in the envelope and outside. She was very excited and we set up the cottage and played for a minute. When it was time for bed she wasn't as excited because she wants her "mees" She told me to give the cottage back and that the babies don't need her mee mees! Then she was crying at the front door for her binki. Finally I distracted her enough to get rid of the envelope and then show her that Penelope had already picked them up and had left fairy dust on the front porch. She looked at me and said, "DON'T touch it!" She survived the first night and the next few days she would ask for it and I would remind her who had her mees. We had to collect some of the fairy dust and take it to show Grammy and Papa, she was very impressed.
Here are some pictures of her new Princess Room. I was so sad to take down the cute little lady bugs. She getting so big!

Too Cute!
